For the 4th,my family and I did end up trying to head out to the Ferndale 4th parade, but unfortunately I guess I’m still trying to get the hang of timing baby’s feedings with event times, because we pretty much missed the entire thing. We met up with one of my girl friends (who’s actually due to have her first boy at the end of the month!) and walked down main street and did a little window shopping. I was a little disappointed that all of the stores weren’t open although it was nice that some of the stores that were open were doing street vendor-type sales outside of their doors.
So after the window shopping, we met up with my in-laws at their model “A” car club’s 4th of July picnic. Rocky and I got to take my in-laws’ roadster on a spin around the rural road near the private home the picnic was at…so fun! It was such a gorgeous day yesterday. Don’t worry, the baby was playing with grandma while we were in the car. 🙂
Then the four of us went to Bear River Casino for a late lunch/early dinner. I haven’t been there since they did their new renovation and I have to say, I like the layout better! It’s not nearly as gloomy or smoky. My husband said he did miss the fish tanks though…haha. Baby was so good and slept through the entire meal. Speaking of meal, my husband and I both had the fish sandwich and weren’t really fans. The bread the sandwich was on was good, but the actual fish had zero flavor! Really disappointed. My friend had the parfait of the day, which included vanilla orange yogurt, granola and fresh fruit; that was delicious! Also, their lemonade must have been home-made because it was some of the best I’ve ever had in a restaurant.
Later that night after putting baby to bed and husband turning in early due to his early work days, I got to catch a little of the fireworks my neighbors shot off. I would post pictures but I wouldn’t want to get any of them into trouble. 😉
Here are some other pictures from our day:
The next day, we went to a Crabs baseball game. We got some awesome seats, and Jacob even stayed up for over half of the game! It was such a gorgeous day, perfect for baseball. Besides almost getting hit by a couple of foul balls, it was a perfect day. 😉 I can’t wait to take him to more as he gets older.

I hope you all had a fun and safe holiday and weekend!
